The Brown Family

We are the Browns and here’s a glimpse into our family life in 2022.

Who we are:

Chantell (Mum), Alex (Dad), Billie (aged 6), Mac (aged 4), and Daisy (our 6 month old pup).

Our favourite way to connect as a family:

One of our fav ways to connect as a family at the moment is to spend a day out on the water in our boat. We fish and let the kids explore our coastline from a different perspective. Alex, my husband, is such a great teacher so Billie and Mac now love fishing and boat life since moving to the Central Coast (NSW). The way their faces light up when they catch a fish … is priceless! We like to head over to Lobster Beach and enjoy a picnic lunch before heading home and cooking up our catch. These are our best days.

Our favourite meal to share together:

I can’t say the kids will agree with me on this the one, but Alex and I are big seafood lovers. So, whenever we have fresh fish or crabs, we will keep it quite simple and grill them on the BBQ with olive oil, garlic, chilli and herbs. We’ll then dress them with fresh lemon and enjoy a beautiful glass of white wine while sitting on our deck and enjoying each other’s company. This is our heaven.

We also love what the Central Coast has to offer in the way of fine dining - the options are incredible. We can’t go past Yellow Tail in Terrigal and Bells at Killcare.

Our favourite local hang out:

If we aren’t at our favourite restaurants, you will find us at one of the many local beaches. We love running our pup Daisy at Avoca Beach where the kids will have a play in the water. Here, everyone is happy. We spend most Sundays at Copacabana doing nippers followed by grabbing a coffee from the Post Office Café in Kincumber.

Our favourite place to getaway:

Now that Billie and Mac are a bit older, it’s becoming easier to travel. We are hoping to soon plan a short trip to Tasmania or up to Brisbane to see family. The kids are so excited to get back on an airplane since our last trip a couple of years ago to Fiji with some close friends. The kids haven’t stopped talking about how much fun they had and we just love being able to give them those beautiful memories.

What we are looking forward to as a family:

We are definitely looking forward to finishing some house renovations in the coming months and spending some quality time at home. I’m imagining roasting marshmallows in the backyard all rugged up coming into winter; having family visit; and just taking it easy. And, if we get a chance to explore our own beautiful country that would be the cherry on top!

Words of wisdom from our family to yours:

I would say keep it simple, sometimes the most last minute throw together days that have been the most memorable, when we aren’t stressing to be anywhere at a certain time or worried about if all of our outfits are coordinating, I know its corny but its TIME, the time we share together that is so so precious we don’t know how long we have on this earth so making sure that we hug kids and tell eachother how much we love them.
